Chiropractic Care

Subscribers may obtain directory information of ASH Plans participating chiropractors by visiting ASH Website or calling the ASH Plans Member Services Department at (800) 678-9133. Accessing Care When members need chiropractic care, all they need to do is call or go online and make an appointment with the ASH Plans participating chiropractor of their choice from a list of more than 2,600 providers statewide. The Kaiser Permanente chiropractic benefit provides members with direct access to chiropractic services, without the need for a referral. An ASH Plans participating chiropractor is a chiropractor licensed and practicing in the state of California who has contracted with ASH Plans to provide chiropractic services to our members. The member presents his or her Kaiser Permanente identification card at the time of the initial examination and completes an ASH Plans Initial Health Status form. The patient is not required to pay for any services other than the co-payment at each visit. Prior authorization may be required for all services following the fourth examination; however this process is invisible to the patient as the ASH Plans chiropractor submits requests directly to ASH. Providers send claims to ASH Plans. ASH Plans verifies the claim to ensure that the billed services were appropriately authorized, completeness for processing, and the appropriate services are paid. ASH Plans then adjudicates the claim and sends payment to the provider. |
